WG 4.2.3:

Application of Artificial Intelligence

in Engineering Geodesy

                                              

 

Terms of Reference

To study and report on topics such as control of measurement- and guidance-systems, deformation analysis, control of alert systems, and the evaluation of their complex data stream through the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques (e.g. knowledge-based systems, genetic algorithms, artificial neural networks, etc.). More details (coming soon).

Research Interests: GPS/GNSS Algorithms, GPS/Inertial and other Sensor Integration for Navigation in Challenged Environments, Sensors and Algorithms for Indoor and Personal Navigation, Signal Processing in Integrated Navigation Systems using Kalman Filter and Non-linear Filtering, and Precision Orbit Determination for GNSS/LEO.

Position: Graduate Research Associate in the Satellite Positioning and Inertial Navigation (SPIN) Laboratory of Ohio-State University, USA

Research Interests: GPS/INS Integration, Integrated Navigation Systems, Personal Navigation Systems, Mobile Mapping Technology, Photogrammetry, Aerial Photography, and LiDAR Data Processing.

 

Susanne Schröder (Ruhr University Bochum, Germany)

Position: Research associate at the Ruhr Universität Bochum

Research Interests: 3D Cameras (TOF Cameras)

 

Jens-André Paffenholz (Leibniz University of Hannover, Germany)

Position: Research Assistant at the Geodetic Institute at the Leibniz Universität Hannover.

Research Interests: Terrestrial Laser Scanning (Geo-referencing Tasks and Kinematic Laser Scanning), Industrial Measurement Systems, Automation of Measurement Processes and Robot Calibrations.

 

Peter Wasmeier (Technical University of Munich, Germany)

Position: Research Assistant at the Geodetic Institute of Technical University of Munich. 

Research Interests: Automated In-Door Deformation Measurement of Sacred Buildings, Development and Improvement of Camera-Based Levelling-staff Calibrators, Object Recognition Using Video Tacheometry, Deformation Measurement Using Tacheometric Scans
