About:

Michael Schindelegger is a post-doctoral researcher working in the field of Earth rotation and atmospheric effects in space geodesy in general. His PhD thesis dealt with atmosphere-induced variations in polar motion and changes in length-of-day with a particular emphasis on the equivalence of the two available dynamical modeling approaches, using either angular momentum or torque quantities. Michael Schindelegger is currently leading the small working group 'Interactions in System Earth' at the research group of Advanced Geodesy, and his interests comprise i.a. atmospheric/oceanic circulation and tides, the usability and reliability of global geophysical fluid models, troposphere delay modeling, and mathematical methods for geosciences.
