About:
Johannes Böhm graduated from the Vienna University of Technology in Vienna in 1999 with a diploma thesis about modern geopotential models. In his PhD studies he dealt with tropospheric path delays in the analysis of very long baseline interferometry (VLBI) observations. At that time the development of the Vienna Mapping Functions VMF was started which was extended to several other models later on (Global Mapping Function GMF, or Global Pressure and Temperature GPT). Tropospheric delay modelling for all radio space geodetic techniques (GNSS, VLBI, DORIS) was the topic of the habilitation thesis in 2008. His main interests are atmospheric effects in geodesy in general (Project GGOS Atmosphere), and the analysis of VLBI observations (with the Vienna VLBI Software VieVS).
