From November 26th 2008 to November 28th 2008 the International Seminar on Hydropower Plants will take place for the 15th time in Vienna. Following the successful 14th Seminar in 2006 (with about 250 participants) the Institute for Thermodynamics and Energy Conversion / Research group : Fluid-Flow machinery and the Institute for Testing and Research in Materials Technology at the Vienna University of Technology in AUSTRIA are organizing the oncoming event. The objective of the Seminar is to provide a forum for exchanging information and ideas and presenting new developments in various fields of Hydropower. TRANSPORT INFORMATION: Information regarding the way to the conference center of Laxenburg are available here Info Leavlet (German version) - 630kB Info Leavlet (English version) - 630kB WORKSHOP: More information about the additional workshop >>here<< FINAL PROGRAM: The final program is now available at >>more<< or to download >>here (pdf, 1.2MB)<< Main topics: Today we have an intensive discussion about the climatic change all over the world. In the near future many efforts will be undertaken to reduce the CO2 output in any field of our life. Hydropower contributes today a big part to reach these goals for the future. The production of clean energy supplied by Hyropower Plants is substantially and important. Nevertheless it is necessary to develop the existing potential either by building new Hydropower plants or to refurbish the old existing ones. Both scenarios will have opportunities to reach the goals of reducing the CO2 output for the future.
Suggestions for other important topics can be considered.
